I am a business professional in Oklahoma City, but that's not all, I have dynamic interests. I grew up in the aviation industry with my father as an AMP mechanic, he held several roles within aviation thoughout his lifetime.
For most of his career (45 years) my father was stationed at the Overhaul Base for Trans World Airlines in Kansas City Missouri, often times he would take me to the base for tours and to spend time around aviation professionals.
We would tour giant paint booths that can easily fit a 777, tear down and test stations for giant jet engines, and areas where they had partially torn down and repaired various parts of the aircraft. Not only did we tour these locations, but we traveled by air every chance we got since we had access to travel passes.
My father and I built U-Control planes and I would fly them regularly. Thoughout my life one thing has been consistent, I have always wanted to be a pilot. Aviation has always been in my blood, but it really took off when he took me to Fort Worth Alliance Airport for my introductory flight.
Although we could not afford to continue at the time, the seed was planted and I later had the opportunity to finish my private pilots certificate: SEL VFR while completing my degrees at Oklahoma State University. After finishing my certificate, I have made it my mission to fly as much as possible, getting family and friends in the air with me, and taking every possible opportunity to fly.
That's why when my sister "liked" EAA's Young Eagles Program on facebook, it caught my attention and I immediatly signed up for EAA and Young Eagles. Since joining, I have also found a new born interest in learning to build an airplane.
I am mechanically inclined, my father (an AMP), did all of his own maintenence on all of our cars, go carts, dirt bikes, bicycles, and as mentioned earlier U-Control airplanes. You better believe I was along side him learning everything I could along the way. I would like to continue to build on this knowledge by helping someone who is building a plane in our chapter.
In addition to helping others and gaining knowledge on the mechanical side, I would love to fly with others in different aircraft and learn about their planes. Currently I have experience flying C-150, C-152, C-172, Piper Cherokee 140 & 150, and a Piper Warrior. I am interested in anything that would be new to me.
I look forward to helping others, serving the community, keeping my skills sharp, and learning something new.
